NORTHLOOM was started in 2024 out of frustration with retail fashion: synthetic blends masquerading as natural fibers, hidden markups of 8× to 10×, and opaque supply chains. We set out to make plain, well-constructed linen and organic cotton basics and publish exactly where every rupee goes.

Partner workshops we can name

We do not run massive sweatshops or subcontract through blind middlemen. We partner directly with three specialized small-batch workshops in India:

• Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu: Knits and tailors our GOTS-certified 240 GSM organic cotton tees, ribbed tanks, and 340 GSM french terry hoodies.
• Kochi, Kerala: Crafts our relaxed European flax linen shirts, drawstring trousers, and casual shorts using single-needle tailoring and natural horn buttons.
• Jaipur, Rajasthan: Tailors our organic cotton wrap dresses and short kurtas with clean French seams and stone-washed finishes.

Traditional apparel retail typically marks up manufacturing costs by 400% to 800% to cover expensive mall rent, celebrity endorsements, and unsold inventory waste.

At NORTHLOOM, we practice radical price transparency. On every single product page and on our homepage, you will find an exact cost breakdown:

• Raw Fabric & Trims: Sourced directly from certified mills in Belgium, Lithuania, and Coimbatore.
• Fair Wage Labour: Cut and stitched by craftspeople paid fair, transparent wages above regional statutory minimums.
• Logistics & Packaging: Plastic-free corrugated cardboard shipping boxes and compostable glassine garment sleeves.
• Duties & Indian GST: 5% on items up to ₹2,500; 18% on items above ₹2,500.
• Our Operating Margin: The modest, honest margin we need to pay our design team, maintain our platform, and invest in future small-batch runs.

Shipping & Delivery

We ship across all 28 states and 8 union territories in India. Orders above ₹1,999 qualify for free standard delivery (typically 2 to 4 business days). For orders under ₹1,999, a flat shipping fee of ₹99 is applied.

Cash on Delivery (COD)

We support Cash on Delivery up to a maximum order threshold of ₹5,000 across serviceable Indian pincodes. A flat ₹49 COD handling fee covers the specialized cash remittance process with our courier partners. For faster dispatch and zero handling fees, we recommend instant UPI payment via Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM.

7-Day Easy Returns & Exchanges

If a garment does not fit as you hoped or does not meet your expectations, we offer hassle-free returns or size exchanges within 7 days of delivery. The garment must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition with tags intact.
